AFDye 555 Alkyne
AFDye™ 555 Alkyne is a water-soluble, bright, orange-fluorescent dye with excitation ideally suited for the 532 nm or 555 nm laser lines and visualized with TRITC (tetramethylrhodamine) filter sets. AFDye™ 555 Alkyne reacts with azides via a copper-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC) to form a stable triazole linker.
A probe for copper-less azide detection (AFDye™ 555 DBCO or Cy3 DBCO) is also available for application where the presence of copper is not acceptable.

AFDye™ 555 is structurally similar to Alexa Fluor® 555, and spectrally is almost identical to Cy3 Dye, Alexa Fluor® 555, CF® 555 Dye, or any other Cyanine3 based fluorescent dyes. AFDye™ 555 Alkyne can be used a less expensive alternative to Alexa Fluor® 555 Alkyne.
For application where the presence of copper is not acceptable, please consider our AFDye™ 555 DBCO or Cy3 DBCO probes for copper-less detection of azide-modified molecules.
